Bob Jamison (1991)
Bob Jamison joined the Alpharetta Lions Club in 1978 and was an active Lion and leader for over 40 years, participating in almost all of our activities; was president 1983-1984; district governor 1986-1987; honored as Alpharetta Lions Club Lion of the Year, Outstanding District Governor of 18-A, and a Melvin Jones Fellow. For several years, Bob organized Easter Egg Hunts and dressed up as a giant Easter bunny. When Lion Bob Jamison approached our board in June 1981 with a plan to hold an invitational golf tournament, someone remarked, “No one will pay $40 to play a game of golf.” Well, they sure did, and we created the Georgia Lions Golf Classic. We had a great fourteen-year run of the Georgia Lions Golf Classic, raising over $96,000. Later, Bob was the initiator of the Pepsi Senior Challenge PGA Golf Tournament in Atlanta and its first executive director. After 9/11 Bob encouraged us to honor our law enforcement officers. Since then, every year our club has recognized outstanding fire, law enforcement, and 911 communication personnel.
Till we see you again, rest in peace dear friend... ✝️

July Highlights
For those of you who didn't have the opportunity to participate, we want to thank you the members of our club who attended the June GA Lions State Convention and we give a big thank you to the attendees of the 2026 LCICON in Hong Kong, Garner and Amy Andrews and Rob Lefebvre.
Our club received 2 White Cane appreciation certificates. David Crawford received the International President's Medal. Thank you to Mark & Valerie Pamperin for hosting 2 young ladies from the Youth Exchange Program, Zoe from France and Merit from Estonia
We're very proud to announce our total membership is 49 members as today. We are now tied with Atlanta Club as the 4th largest Club in District 18L.
Our District 18L is the Leader in Membership Growth in FY25-26! Thank you Tony Pickens, Membership Chair.
You should've received an updated roster via e-mail. If you didn't, please let us know so we can update our records.
**Our Spotlight this past month goes to Lions Mark & Valerie Pamperin for hosting the guests from the Youth Exchange Program, Lion Mary Lefebvre for her efforts toward the White Cane Campaign. $1,520 were raised, and Lion Rajiv Prasad for the wonderful job he's doing performing as the Club's secretary!
Our service project for July was street cleaning downtown Alpharetta. Thank you to Rob & Mary Lefebvre and Judy Morris.
Our 2026 Annual Picnic was a big success! Food was delicious, we were blessed with a beautiful day and had 45 people attending between members and guests.
Garner Andrews gave us a recap of the LCIF Convention held in Hong Kong early this month. Big thanks to all of you who brought school supplies and much needed donations for Venezuela. Schools supplies will be delivered to Brandywine Elementary School in the next couple of weeks.
For our August meeting we're asking for snacks!
We were told by teachers last year, a lot of parents send the kids to school with nothing to eat so the school has to provide food for them.
Thank you all for your hard work! ❤️
